The Avett Brothers Red Rocks 2017 Gigposter

4-color screenprinted hexaptych for The Avett Brothers show at Red Rocks July 7-9 2017. When put together, the 6 panels form one image. These were created for the VIP and GA ticket holders. The posters available at the show were printed on off-white, and the Artist Variants were printed on white.

The artwork is a tribute to my cat companion of 17 years who passed away a few months before this show. It shows the cat and girl communicating through nature and magic, over the passage of time, while great spirit animals look on and protect.

This was cut into three individual posters which were given to the VIP ticketholders each night. I was stoked when Greg contacted me to create illustrations for Blue Lizard's® website. They needed a lizard mascot engaged in a variety of outdoor activities in which a person would wear sunscreen. We created a la carte lizards (so they can be used in different contexts) and some are created with backgrounds. For the sliders, the illustrations are combined with photography to showcase specific Blue Lizard® formulas. I illustrated the props, backgrounds, and a small lizard mascot for each one, who is mirroring the activities of the humans.

I have been a fan of the creative department at Wake Forest University (WFU) for awhile and not only was I over the moon excited to work with them, I totally lost my shit when I found out the project would involve illustrations of their commencement speaker and my personal hero, Stephen Colbert.

Every year, Wake Forest does a Commencement Homepage Takeover where the commencement page takes over the university's website homepage for a few days around commencement time. This year they wanted to do something unique and they came to me with the idea of using photographed heads on little bodies for the illustrations of the speakers and students that would be profiled on the site.

The students at WFU have a tradition of rolling the quad whenever their sports teams have a win, so we decided to use that as inspiration for the Colbert illustrations. For the the Baccalaureate speaker, Jonathan Walton, I created monoline drawings of the interior and exterior of Wait Chapel; and the sliders for the student profiles are each based on their own individual interests.

I had the pleasure of creating the illustrations while the talented folks at WFU tweaked them to fit with their homepage as they added the typography and built it since we were on a super short deadline.

I love creating things for a good cause and was excited when Common Giant asked me to create these posters as rewards for Easy Peezy's Kickstarter campaign. Easy Peezy is a company focused on making a pee test for Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA.)

The posters are based on characters and lyrics from an animated music video Common Giant created that explains how the Easy Peezy test works and highlights OSA's symptoms and how kids are often being misdiagnosed with ADD when there's a chance they actually have OSA. 

Each character is engaged in a fun activity to show how fun and productive it can be to have some focus after a correct diagnosis.

David Jones from The Variable contacted me to create some art for a billboard on the side of their building. It was called the Giant Art Project, and they commissioned different artists to create something new for it every few months. It was an honor and a pleasure to be asked to make a contribution to the project.
I had just graduated with my graphic design degree, and was eager to collaborate. I asked a fellow graduate and friend, Valecia Hopper, to make something with me and this is the result. It's an illustration about creating things and making stuff to hopefully inspire passersby.
